Designed specifically for megayachts, the Yacht Port Cartagena is an international marina that can accommodate boats up to 140 meters length. In recent years it has become a reference point in the Mediterranean. And this not only for reasons related to the world of sailing. Recently, the marina has collaborated with the world music festival known as “La Mar de Musicas” (Sea of Music) in Cartagena, edition of2012, by hosting a concert of the French soul singer “Ben L’Oncle Soul” and of the Japanese jazz band “TOKYO SKA PARADISE ORCHESTRA”. This collaboration shows the involvement of the Yacht Port Cartagena in cultural activities related to other areas outside of sailing. The concerts had a resounding success. The quality of the participating groups was excellent and the public response was enormous and shows the interest for these kinds of events.
The Yacht Port Cartagena will continue to support various cultural events even more often in the future. Last but not least it is remarkable that despite the current economic crisis, the number of “boat passers” in the Yacht Port has increased over the years reaching more than the previous record in both the winter and summer period. Similarly, also the number of boats whose owners decide to spend the year in the marina has exceeded all previous years. Cartagena has a very mild climate and is a city whose history dates back 3.000 years. To name but a few Cartagena offers a recently restored Roman theatre, archaeological museums, a museum for Underwater Archaeology with impressive monuments and relicts. And with all this, the quality of Mediterranean food, the excellent location of the marina, the professionalism and friendly team of the marina have converted the Yacht Port Cartagena into a very attractive location, a must in the international nautical panorama.
