On Saturday October 6th will be the third edition of the la 10K Carrera Solidaria Puerto de Cartagena, whose benefits will go to the Association Pablo Ugarte (APU), founded by the parents and friends of Pablo Ugarte, who died of bone cancer when he was 10 years old, to help in the fight against child cancer.
This year the event has several novelties. First, the route changes, incorporating the emblematic neighborhood of Santa Lucia. The race will start and end at the dock of Alfonso XII. The runners will cross the fishing district, continue to the dock of La Curra, until they reach Cala Cortina where they will return to the starting point. For the first time, Yacht Port Cartagena is included in the tour, which has been fully involved in this project.
The event, organized by the Port Authority of Cartagena, in collaboration with Ayuntamiento de Cartagena, the Comunidad Autonoma of Region of Murcia and the Runtritón Sports Club, is open to everyone who wants to collaborate in any way.
The III Puerto de Cartagena Solidarity Race will have the 10K race (for participants over 18 years of age), the 4.5K race (for participants from 13 to 17 years old, and participants with functional diversity). ), and the infant race (from 0 to 12 years old). In addition, there will be a 4.5k walk for hikers, although this is not included in the competition.
But also, and as a novelty this year, the race has the inscription “Dorsal solidarity”, for all people who cannot attend the test and want to collaborate with the Pablo Ugarte Association.
